Huaxi National Urban Wetland Park lies in Huaxi district, Guiyang, Guizhou province. Opened in September 2011, it is China's first national urban wetland park defined by plateau karst landforms.
The park follows the Huaxi River, linking more than 20 attractions, including Golden Avenue, lotus ponds, reed beds and rice paddies. Rural cultural features such as waterwheels, traditional grain mills and granaries add to its pastoral charm. The tree-lined Golden Avenue, flanked by plane trees, is a popular photo spot in autumn. Pedestrian trails and cycling paths run throughout the park. Visitors can also explore the park at a leisurely pace by electric shuttle or rented bicycle.
