Robots climbed Taishan Mountain in Shandong province on Monday, some moving at full speed, some moving slowly and steadily, and some wobbling along with a catwalk-like sway.
A robot climbing competition tested the machines on the mountain's steep and uneven stairways.
The course covered about 3.9 kilometers and more than 3,100 steps. The event featured two racing categories, one for humanoid robots and one for legged robots, plus a load-carrying competition for legged robots and an exoskeleton-assisted event. An all-terrain mobile pathfinding challenge was also staged.
