More than 50 young people from various Asia-Pacific countries and regions, including South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Russia, visited cities in Shandong province from Oct 26 to 30. The delegation mainly consisted of mainstream journalists and independent content creators.

Through field visits and in-depth dialogues, they experienced Shandong on the move and gained a better understanding of China.

"I have visited many ancient towns in China, but what makes Zhoucun stand out is that it isn't just preserved for sightseeing," said Lo Thi Lan Anh, a journalist with Vietnam Television, at the Zhoucun ancient commercial town in Zibo.

"The residents still live and do business here, and the traditional trades and crafts are well preserved," she said.
