Long March spirit continues to inspire China's development: FM spokeswoman
The spirit of the Long March continues to inspire the Chinese people to overcome difficulties and achieve remarkable development, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Tuesday.
Mao made the remarks at a regular news briefing in response to comments by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who reportedly praised China's development achievements and compared its efforts to build a community with a shared future for humanity and advance the Belt and Road Initiative to a new Long March.
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army's Long March.
Mao said China has noted Zakharova's positive remarks.
On the new Long March toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, China will continue to pursue an independent foreign policy of peace and work in solidarity with countries around the world, including Russia, to promote peace and development and build a community with a shared future for humanity, she added.
