Beijing hosted the results and showcase of standout works for the Yanqing cultural and tourism resources AI short film library project on Sunday. Organized by Yanqing district's culture and tourism bureau, the event presented the project's collection and selections, screened standout works, and honored outstanding creators.

The project solicited and selected works across four categories — cultural heritage renewal, greenway roaming, humanistic landscapes, and open creativity — ultimately choosing four distinctive works, six individual quality works, and 30 excellent works. Through on-site screenings, the event brought together creators' visual interpretations of Yanqing's culture, ecology and humanistic landscape, highlighting what can be achieved when traditional imagery meets AI creativity.

Lin Jun, director of Yanqing district's culture and tourism bureau, explains that the AI short-film library is meant to use digital creativity to capture Yanqing's landscapes and tell its stories, so distinctive resources, such as the Great Wall, the Winter Olympics, and local folk customs, can reach more people, and Yanqing's stories can travel nationwide and worldwide. The project encourages creators to blend traditional imagery with AI creativity to explore new ways to express and share Yanqing's cultural and tourism resources in digital form.

Launched on April 19, the project issued an open call to creators both in China and abroad. During the submission phase, 252 works were entered, including works by creators from 58 domestic cities. After reviewing and screening, 106 works advanced to the final round, and 40 quality works were ultimately selected.

To help creators better understand Yanqing's cultural and tourism resources, the project organized nearly 40 creators to visit six key locations. There, creators experienced the region's landscapes and culture, captured the appeal of local scenes through their lenses, and gathered material for their work. The project gradually built a body of cultural and tourism video content with distinct local character.

The project drew participation from more than 300 creative entities and many internet influencers. All quality works have now been added to the AI short-film library.

Beyond producing quality works, the project also fostered deep connections among creators, with exchanges extending well past the works themselves into broader dimensions. Some participating creators and internet influencers spontaneously visited and promoted Yanqing, offered suggestions on Yanqing's IP development and cultural tourism industry transformation, and discussed potential cooperation with key scenic spots.
