For many young German readers, this was the first time they learned how China safeguards diverse ethnic traditions and folk lifestyles on the grasslands amid rapid economic development, and got a glimpse of how diversified the lifestyle in China could be, as Blackcrane himself spends most of his time with his dogs, horses and even wolves on the wide grasslands like a traditional nomad.

Spanning from China's vast grasslands to the woodlands of Bavaria, Blackcrane's trip transcends geographic barriers and plants seeds of friendship and mutual understanding in young minds and substantially boosts Sino‑German literary and cultural ties. It is also part of the China Writers Association's initiative to promote young Chinese writers abroad, which has a list of 50 writers who were all born after the 1970s and growing up in the age of reform and opening-up.

The event was supported by the Chinese consulate general in Munich and the German‑Chinese Association for Economy, Education and Culture, hosted by the Chinese Literature Readers' Club in Germany, and organized by China Education Publications Import & Export Corporation.
