Regarding the ongoing China-EU trade talks, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning has called on Brussels to work with Beijing toward the same goal and resolve mutual concerns through dialogue and consultation.

The second round of China-EU trade talks is being held in Beijing from Thursday to Friday.

"China has always believed that upholding openness and cooperation and resolving differences in economic and trade matters through equal dialogue and consultation is in the common interests of both China and the EU," Mao told reporters at a daily news conference in Beijing on Thursday.

"We hope the EU will move in the same direction as China, resolve each other's concerns through dialogue and consultation, and promote the healthy and stable development of China-EU economic and trade relations. We believe this is in the interests of both sides," she said.
