County in Jilin handles over 70 percent of world's pine nut processing

A small city in Northeast China's Jilin province has become a global hub for pine nuts, handling over 70 percent of the world's processing and distribution during the peak season.

Lately, many of the pine nuts processed in Meihekou find their way into mooncakes, nutrient dense treats that are commonly eaten during Mid-Autumn Festival.
