Runners race day and night in Guangxi

The two-day 2026 Longji Terraces 100km Trail Race wrapped up on Sunday at Longji Terraces Scenic Area in Longsheng county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

More than 3,200 trail runners from Russia, the United States, Spain and across China competed in the annual event, hosted in the reputed "Hometown of the World's Ancient Terraces".

Participants raced day and night along scenic mountain routes, pushing their physical limits while traversing centuries-old terraced fields, seas of bamboo and clouds, alpine meadows and ancient villages of the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups.

The course offered a moving landscape tour for all competitors. Runners immersed themselves in the golden autumn scenery — rolling waves of rice on layered terraces — and experienced the distinctive ethnic customs and cultural heritage of Longsheng.
