China sent over 100 tons of disaster relief supplies to Nepal

China has provided Nepal with over 100 tons of disaster relief supplies and has sent over 20 experts to provide technical support for search and rescue operations and DNA testing after a deadly mudslide hit the border between the two countries, the China International Development Cooperation Agency said on Tuesday.

The supplies, transported by military aircraft flights, include drones, rescue equipment, genetic testing devices and daily necessities for affected residents, the agency's spokeswoman Tang Ying said at a news conference.

China has continued to share meteorological, hydrological and geological data with Nepal, she said, adding that the country also provided cash aid to the South Asian nation.

To date, all assistance has been delivered, she said. According to her, China has delivered three rounds of emergency humanitarian assistance to Nepal following the mudslide.

China will arrange training programs in disaster prevention and mitigation as soon as possible to cultivate urgently needed talents for the country, Tang said.

In light of the needs of Nepal, China will continue to provide assistance within its capacity to support the post-disaster reconstruction of the country, she said.
