China Coast Guard conducts law enforcement control exercise near Huangyan Island

The China Coast Guard conducted a rights protection and law enforcement control exercise in the waters near China's Huangyan Island on Sunday, a spokesman said.

Jiang Lue, spokesman for the China Coast Guard, said the drill focused on boarding and inspection, stopping vessels attempting to force their way through, and compulsory towing.

The China Coast Guard will step up rights-protection law enforcement and management and control in the waters near Huangyan Island and resolutely safeguard China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, Jiang said.
