As Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day holiday drew near, an intangible heritage iron flower performance wowed visitors at Xinzhou Ancient Town in Shanxi province on Tuesday.
Iron flower is an ancient folk pyrotechnic craft. Artisans strike molten iron heated to 1,600 C into the air. The liquefied iron bursts mid-air, turning into a storm of silver sparks.
