China vows greater cooperation with ASEAN nations

China is willing to further tap the potential for cooperation with ASEAN member states across various fields to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a daily news briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.

When asked about the upcoming 23rd China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, Guo noted that this year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership.

"Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both sides, practical cooperation between China and ASEAN across various fields has yielded fruitful results, and economic and trade ties have grown ever closer," he said.

China is willing to work with ASEAN countries to give full play to the role of the China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit as platforms, and to promote the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, he added.
