Fujian coast guard conducts routine patrols near Jinmen

The Fujian coast guard conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in waters near Jinmen on Saturday, according to a spokesperson for a regional bureau of the China Coast Guard.

Zhu Anqing, spokesman for the East China Sea Bureau of the China Coast Guard, stated that the Fujian coast guard has deployed vessel task forces to continuously enhance control over the relevant waters since the beginning of August.

He said that the patrols aim to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of fishermen on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, as well as their lives and property.

The patrols have also guaranteed normal navigation and operational order in the waters between Xiamen and Jinmen, he added.
