4 dead, 1 missing after vehicle falls into river in Inner Mongolia

A flash flood swept away a vehicle as it was crossing a bridge in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Tuesday afternoon, leaving four people dead and one other missing, according to China Central Television.
The incident occurred at 3 pm in Baojiaying village, Datongyao township, Xinghe county, in the city of Ulanqab, when torrents of water overwhelmed the bridge and pushed the car into the surging current, CCTV added.
Search and rescue operations are underway, and the cause of the accident is under further investigation.
