The Shanghai leg of an exchange program for the young people across the Strait opened on August 25, attracting more than 1,000 participants from Chinese mainland and Taiwan. Lien Sheng-wu, chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang youth development committee, said young people across the Strait should pool the strengths and step out into the world together, so that the Chinese nation can stand on the global stage with greater confidence and a more open spirit.
