China Media Group (CMG) broadcast its annual Qixi Festival Gala on Aug 19, with Wuxi's Nianhuawan Bay serving as the primary filming location.
Set against the region's natural scenery and cultural landmarks, the production blended the city's urban landscape with traditional Jiangnan-style aesthetics.
Built around the motif of bridges, the gala progressed through five emotional themes: the Bridge of Hearts, the Bridge of Promises, the Bridge of Culture, the Bridge of Unity, and the Bridge of Endeavor. Each theme was paired with a distinct local site: Nianhuawan Bay, Dangkou Ancient Town, the former residence of Xue Fucheng, Qingming Bridge Ancient Canal Scenic Area, and Deep Blue Aerospace.
Through this bridge-themed narrative and its scenic backdrops, the show offered a portrait of Wuxi that balanced everyday warmth, historical depth, and a sense of shared aspiration.
