Chopsticks clinked against porcelain and a rotating tray of shrimp dumplings, water chestnut cake, and fried milk made its rounds — this was no ordinary meal, but a cultural bridge.

Participants of the Playshop for Language and Cultural Exchange (PLACE) Summer Camp enjoyed a memorable moment in mid-August at a Cantonese teahouse in Foshan, South China's Guangdong province, savoring an authentic taste of Cantonese morning tea.

Running from Aug 9 to 21, the PLACE Summer Camp is a flagship international program of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), bringing together global youth to explore Lingnan culture and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
