Guangdong braces for impact of Typhoon Noul

Airline and passenger train services across Guangdong province will be seriously affected by Typhoon Noul, which is expected to make landfall on the province's eastern coast.

Thirty-six airports nationwide are expected to be affected for several days starting on Saturday, according to the typhoon path and airport impact forecast map issued by aviation platform VariFlight.

Airports in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Jieyang, Guangdong, as well as Xiamen, Fujian province, and Hong Kong may experience severe impacts.

Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou will optimize its emergency response plans as the storm arrives. It reminds travelers to stay updated on flight statuses before their journeys.

The typhoon is expected to enter the northeastern part of the South China Sea late Saturday and early Sunday, with intensity continuing to strengthen and potentially reaching severe levels, according to the provincial meteorological station.

Noul is projected to make landfall along the eastern coast of Guangdong, particularly between areas of Chaozhou and Shenzhen. Heavy rainfall is likely across most of the province.

To ensure the safety of passenger trains, China Railway Guangzhou Group will begin suspending high-speed and regular train services across Guangdong starting on Saturday, with all high-speed and regular train services expected to be shut down by the end of Sunday.

The railway department will closely monitor changes in the typhoon and rainfall situation and adjust operations as needed.
