Children's literature society dissolves two committees
The China Society for the Studies of Children's Literature has dissolved two of its specialized committees, citing the expiration of their directors' terms and compliance with newly introduced regulatory requirements for social organizations.
The organization, a national-level body registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs and supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said it would not renew the appointments of the directors of its Language Art Committee and Poetry Education Committee. Their terms ended on May 31 and April 17, 2026, respectively.
The move comes as the Ministry of Civil Affairs rolls out new administrative measures that stipulate social organizations may not establish branches with overlapping membership or duplicate mandates, or set up sub-branches under existing branches.
Established in Beijing on June 1, 1980, the organization currently has six other branches.
