New ambassadors for WorldSkills Competition announced in Shanghai
The World Youth Skills Day was held in Shanghai on Wednesday as a new batch of ambassadors for the upcoming WorldSkills Competition was unveiled.
The six ambassadors, namely Wang Shuqun, Cao Jiahao, Zhu Lixuan, Liu Xinru, Yang Ling, and Wu Jiani, were selected from industries including aerospace assembly, digital software, floral art, sugar art, restaurant services and hotel reception.
A white porcelain arts exhibition was also unveiled at the same time. It was jointly prepared by the World Skills Museum and the Dehua county government in Fujian province, as more than 100 art treasures created by Chinese masters of arts and crafts, national technical experts, and other artists were selected. From Thursday, it is open to the public for free.
On Tuesday, the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau announced a list of 15 new vocational certification programs to serve the World Youth Skills Day.
Hongkou district has also released its own list of 44 job areas suitable for local skills support, which include AI, maritime finance, green energy and elder care services.
The district has also expanded its "Skills Night School" program, which allows citizens to take short courses during the evenings and weekends.
