A chair is one piece of furniture that people miss most while outside — it bears our weary bodies and helps our minds relax while reading, dining, or resting. This idea inspired artist Wang Bo to create an art therapy project commissioned by the Being Art Museum in Shanghai. Family members were invited to a workshop where parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren collaboratively painted dozens of chairs made with various materials. These colorful chairs are hung on the museum's walls and suspended in the air to construct a healing space for visitors.

Wang's project is one of the four artistic explorations in Difference in Common, an art therapy initiated by the Being Art Museum, a public space supported by Shanghai's Pudong district, to bind communities, artists and cultural institutions through interactive, immersive activities.

The exhibitions run through Sept 8, and workshops will continue until December, integrating systematic art therapy methods into real-life settings and building an accessible, inclusive public education ecosystem.
