5 confirmed dead after Gansu landslide, 12 still trapped

Five people have been confirmed dead after a landslide struck Renzang village in Tanchang county of Longnan, Gansu province, on Tuesday morning, according to a report from Xinhua News Agency. Search and rescue operations for the remaining 12 people are ongoing.
As of 2:50 pm on Tuesday, rescue teams had located 21 of the 33 people initially trapped. Five of those rescued died despite emergency medical efforts.
