Flooding causes deaths, evacuation

Two people were confirmed as dead on Monday night in flooding affecting Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, triggered by heavy rainfall in upstream reservoir catchment areas, according to local public security authorities.
The disaster has impacted approximately 55,000 residents - of those, about 48,000 have already been evacuated to safety as emergency response efforts continue, officials said at a news conference.
