Fujian coast guard patrols waters near Jinmen
The Fujian coast guard conducted routine law enforcement patrols in waters near Jinmen, an island administered by Taiwan, on Monday.
Zhu Anqing, a spokesman for the East China Sea Bureau of the China Coast Guard, said in a statement that since the beginning of June, the Fujian coast guard has continuously deployed vessel task forces to strengthen law enforcement patrols in the waters near Jinmen.
The operations have further enhanced control over the relevant waters, Zhu said.
He said the patrols have effectively protected the legitimate rights and interests of fishermen on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, as well as their lives and property.
The patrols have also helped ensure normal navigation and operational order in the waters between Xiamen and Jinmen, he added.
