Ceramics seen as bridge between China and the world

China has shown that ceramics are more than a heritage to be protected and can serve as an engine for urban renewal, artistic innovation and global dialogue, international officials and artists said at a major global ceramics gathering in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province.
The 2026 Congress and General Assembly of the International Academy of Ceramics opened in Jingdezhen on Sunday. Held under the theme "Inheritance and Innovation", the event runs from June 28 to July 2, bringing together ceramic artists, scholars, curators, educators and cultural institutions from around the world.
