Shanghai Hongqiao Intl Airport opens free, pet-friendly lounge
A departure lounge exclusively designed for passengers traveling with pets officially commenced operations at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport on June 18.
Spanning nearly 100 square meters at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport T2, the departure lounge offers services including short-term pet care, flight information, and travel guidance, according to the Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.
Passengers traveling with pets can enter the lounge free of charge with a valid boarding pass for the same day after registration, and each passenger is allowed to bring one pet only.
The area, which operates under independent management, is equipped with pet storage lockers, play facilities, and washing and grooming basins. The indoor space has adopted a fresh air purification system and security equipment to ensure clean air circulation and operational safety.
In addition, the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport also offers special security check services for passengers traveling with pets.
