Deepinfar Ocean Technology Inc in Tianjin is sending its flagship product on a long-haul research mission, which is expected to generate a new record in testing underwater performance and data collecting within a few months.

HaiYi, a long-range underwater glider, is expected to sail over 10,000 kilometers, lasting over one year in a single deployment.

The company, known internationally by its consumer brand Sublue and located in Binhai New Area, has achieved full-stack autonomy in underwater propulsion, navigation and sealing. Its deep-sea platforms are capable of reaching up to a 6,000-meter operating depth.

"Six thousand meters means the equipment must withstand about 600 atmospheres. We've pushed working depth from 100 meters to 6,000 meters through hundreds of sea trials," said Wang Hongda, a product director at Deepinfar.

Underwater robots serve as humanity's "underwater stand-ins", breaking physical limits to keep people away from high-risk work, while turning once-inaccessible deep-sea exploration into a mass-market experience.

"We are focusing on marine cultural tourism as a key scenario. Civilian products not only assist in operations, but also enrich public leisure," said Wei Jiancang, founder and general manager of Deepinfar.

"The mass production and wide usage of our products generates vast amounts of data, and it is through this data stability that we achieve truly customized solutions," Wei said.

Sublue's pump-jet underwater scooters hold nearly 60 percent of the global consumer market, while 90 percent of its products are exported. They are designed to be safe and intuitive —even non-swimmers can operate them after minimal training.

"We want non-professionals to feel the fun of being an 'underwater rider'. Our products bring ocean exploration from labs to everyday life," said Dong Yan, product director of the Sublue line.
