Senior Colonel Chen Xi debuts as national defense spokesman
Senior Colonel Chen Xi made his debut as spokesman for China's Ministry of National Defense on Tuesday.
The ministry released his profile on its website, showing that Chen, born in 1983, was appointed deputy head of the Information Office of the Office for International Military Cooperation of the Central Military Commission in December 2025.
He was admitted to the former People's Liberation Army's academy of international relations in 2001 and he received his master's degree in 2008.
Speaking at an online news briefing, Chen said he was pleased to meet the media and fulfill his duty of introducing China's national defense policy and telling the story of building a strong military in the new era.
"I will communicate sincerely with friends from the media and work together with you, so that the world can better know the lovely Chinese service members, learn about the real Chinese military, and trust the reliable strength of China," he said.
