A flock of glossy ibises, a species under China's highest level of State protection, was recently sighted at Shishi Wetland Park in Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province.
Although appearing dark from afar, under direct sunlight, their feathers radiate a breathtaking metallic luster, shifting through iridescent gradients. Quanzhou has emerged as a vital destination for the bird, with at least six recorded sightings since 2021, according to local authorities.
