The National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus — Belteleradiocompany, the largest state media holding company in Belarus — unveiled its first China office in Beijing on Tuesday.

Dmitry Krutoi, head of the Administration of the President of Belarus, and Ivan Eismont, chairperson of Belteleradiocompany, attended and addressed the ceremony.

Krutoi stated that recent years have witnessed the high-level development of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Belarus.

Serving as a pivotal hub within the Belt and Road Initiative, Belarus is home to many enterprises established with Chinese investment. Notably, the Great Stone Industrial Park — the largest joint project between Belarus and China — is currently flourishing on the outskirts of Minsk, he said.

“With the continued increase in flights between China and Belarus, the growing popularity of Chinese holiday destinations among Belarusians, and the rise of Chinese students studying in Belarus, there will be an endless supply of topics for exclusive interviews, news reports, and expert analyses concerning China for decades to come,” Krutoi said. “China-related coverage will invariably continue to capture the keenest interest of the Belarusian audience.”

Eismont told China Daily website that Belteleradiocompany’s establishment of a China office is essential for Belarus to gain first-hand information from the country.

“Belarus and China have signed many partnership agreements. Thus, learning what is happening in China — whose development is fast, complex, and multi-faceted — is significant to our country,” he said.

Journalist Yaraslau Danilenka will head the Beijing office, which will produce video reports on a weekly basis covering China’s politics, economy, and social life, Eismont said.
