Running event celebrates nature over competition

"Trail running, on the other hand, is more free-spirited. You can follow your own pace and enjoy the process."

She also observed that people used to work out mostly in gyms, but now more people choose to go outdoors and connect with nature.

"Running and hiking aren't just physical activities — they help relieve stress. Breathing fresh mountain air is a great way to recharge both body and mind," she added.

Launched in 2024, the event has been held in Hangzhou for three consecutive years and has quickly become a sought-after fixture, with this year's tickets selling out within five minutes.

Through initiatives like this, Outopia is reshaping how trail running is understood — not as a pursuit of speed or results, but as a way to foster connection, both among people and with nature.
