5 dead in Jiangsu bridge collapse

Five men have died following the collapse of a bridge that was under construction in Xiangshui county, Yancheng, Jiangsu province.
The incident occurred at 5:46 pm on Monday during the construction of the Yuegang Bridge on the Lianyungang-Shanghai Line, which was being built by the China Railway 12th Bureau Group.
Emergency rescue operations and site management staff were promptly deployed by authorities from Yancheng and Xiangshui to the site of the incident.
Efforts are ongoing to investigate the cause of the accident and handle the aftermath.
