Xi extends condolences to Spanish King over high-speed train collision

BEIJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a message of condolence to Spanish King Felipe VI over a high-speed train collision.
In the message, Xi said that he was shocked to learn of a high-speed train collision in Cordoba Province in southern Spain, causing heavy casualties.
The Chinese president, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, expressed deep condolences for the victims and sincere sympathy to the bereaved families. Xi also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Also on Tuesday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang sent a message of condolence to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
