China, Canada have huge cooperation potential in economic, trade fields: commerce ministry
BEIJING -- China and Canada both support economic globalization and trade liberalization, and share extensive common interests and huge potential for cooperation in economic and trade fields, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
China is expanding high-standard opening up, proactively aligning with high-standard international economic and trade rules, and steadily advancing institutional opening up, said ministry spokesperson He Yongqian at a regular press briefing.
China is willing to actively negotiate and sign bilateral and regional trade and investment agreements with countries and regions that are open to such cooperation, to further promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and safeguard the hard-won free trade and multilateral trading system through concrete actions, the spokesperson said.
