Penguins and fireworks as park celebrates the new year
Zhengzhou Haichang Ocean Park rang in the new year with a spectacular blend of marine attractions, artistic light displays, and trendy performances, drawing nearly 120 percent more visitors during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day compared to the same time last year.
The park launched its New Year Festival in conjunction with social media platform Douyin, with activities such as live music, fireworks, a float parade, and gifts for visitors.
A highlight on New Year's Day was the 100-day birthday celebration of the park's second emperor penguin chick, during which keepers provided expert knowledge about the species.
To accommodate crowds, the park also extended its opening hours over the holiday period. For visitors' comfort, all indoor areas were heated and offered free disposable hand warmers and hot water.
