The Starlight Night Market in Jinghong city, Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, is known for its local delicacies, ethnic costumes and exquisite handicrafts sold at stalls along the Lancang River.

Known as the Mekong River in Southeast Asia, the Lancang is a vital waterway that stretches across China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

The night market is mainly themed on the traditions of the local Dai ethnic group, enriched by the cultural influences of the countries along the river, including Thailand and Cambodia. This multicultural event allows visitors to experience a tapestry of cuisines, traditional attire and cultural performances without traveling abroad.
