Annual international art exhibition to open in Beijing
Nearly 600 artworks from around the world that underline the coexistence of different cultures and the relationship between humankind and nature are to be unveiled at the 10th Beijing International Art Biennale, due to open on Dec 29 and run until Jan 28.
Organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Beijing municipality, the exhibition, which first launched in 2003, has become a gathering of artists of various cultural backgrounds who share individual experiences and common values through various media and themes.
The exhibition will be open to the public at one of the capital's iconic landmarks, Beijing Exhibition Center, which has just undergone a face-lift.
Initially a platform for paintings and sculptures, the exhibition has expanded in scale to include mixed-media installations, photos and digital art. This year the show will have an exhibition dedicated to digital art, one on ink art and a special exhibition of Serbian art.
