Collaboration merges TCM with contemporary hospitality
Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing launched a wellness-focused collaboration this week with Tong Ren Tang, a traditional Chinese medicine brand with more than 300 years of history.
The partnership introduces a new room package, "A Harmonious Retreat: The Tong Ren Tang Wellness Journey", that incorporates TCM concepts within a contemporary hospitality setting.
The initiative combines Tong Ren Tang's health practices with the hotel's existing wellness programs. Guests who book the package will have access to a health consultation provided by Tong Ren Tang practitioners, as well as treatments and herbal teas developed for the program.
The collaboration is rooted in the shared geography of both institutions. The hotel is located in the Caocang Hutong in the eastern part of Qianmen, an area with ties to Tong Ren Tang. One of its rooms, the "Beiping Residence", occupies a former home of a Tong Ren Tang family descendant, underscoring the district's long-standing association with the brand.
According to the hotel's general manager, Guan Hao, the collaboration aims to situate wellness programming within Beijing's cultural landscape rather than to replicate conventional hospitality offerings.
