Heating pipe accident in Dalian kills one, injures one
A heating pipeline burst on Monday afternoon in Shahekou district of Dalian, Liaoning province, resulting in one fatality and one injury from scalding, according to a statement released by the district's housing and urban-rural development bureau on Tuesday.
The accident occurred at around 2:40 pm on Monday in front of a commercial building on Hongling Road. One individual was pronounced dead after emergency treatment at the hospital, while another sustained scald injuries.
Relevant authorities immediately initiated rescue and repair operations, the statement said, adding that efforts are underway to handle the aftermath.
As of the latest update, repair work on the affected heating network in the area has been completed, with heating supply restored and the road surface repaired.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
