The Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center hosted a Chinese and Western dance dialogue on Wednesday, featuring renowned Chinese and Western dance masters.

International ballet master Vladimir Malakhov, a professor at Beijing Dance Academy, demonstrated core ballet principles using Adolphe Adam's Giselle as an example.

"True artistry transcends technique, and it's about conveying emotional truth through disciplined form," Malakhov emphasized.

Hu Yan, a professor of Chinese classical dance at the Beijing Dance Academy, revealed the essence of traditional dance through live demonstrations.

"Every gesture carries cultural heritage. We convey spirit through physical form," Hu explained, showcasing the four key elements of Chinese classical dance: form, spirit, strength and rhythm.

The highlight featured both masters discussing how classical traditions maintain relevance today. They explored training differences, artistic expression, and the modernization of traditional forms while preserving cultural authenticity.

The event attracted international guests from Austria and Russia, offering a vibrant celebration of cultural exchange through the universal language of dance.
