China denounces deadly terror attack in Pakistan, conveys condolences
China on Wednesday strongly condemned a suicide bombing that took place near a court in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, which killed at least 12 people and injured several others.
The Pakistan Taliban, known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
During a regular news briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun expressed China's firm opposition to all forms of terrorism.
"China strongly condemns this terrorist attack and expresses deep condolences to the victims and sincere sympathies to the injured and bereaved families," he said.
Guo confirmed that, based on current information, no Chinese nationals were harmed in the attack.
He stressed that China will continue to firmly support Pakistan's efforts to combat terrorism, maintain social stability, and ensure the safety of its people.
