Estee Lauder lights up hope in pink
The Estee Lauder Companies held its 2025 Pink Ribbon campaign lighting ceremony on Thursday at the former Shanghai municipal government building, a century-old landmark on the Bund, officially kicking off a new year of breast cancer prevention and awareness initiatives.
This year, the company invited renowned dancer Zhu Jiejing as its 2025 Pink Ribbon ambassador. At the event, Zhu shared her personal journey of battling breast cancer — from the anxiety of diagnosis, to the resilience of treatment, and finally to renewal after recovery. She said this experience taught her to "love herself better," describing it as a process of inner reflection and rediscovery.
The campaign is one of the company's most iconic corporate social responsibility programs. Launched in 1992 by Evelyn H. Lauder, this global initiative has so far raised more than 1.024 billion yuan ($144 million) globally, supporting breast cancer research, public education, screening, and treatment.
In 2023, to mark the 20th anniversary of the campaign's entry into China, Estee Lauder and the China Women's Development Foundation launched a three-year cooperation program. The company pledged 10 million yuan in donations to the foundation to support breast health initiatives. Over the past two years, these programs have covered regions including Jilin, Yunnan, Guizhou, Heilongjiang, Anhui, and Sichuan provinces.
