Celebrating Beijing through sketches

Urban Sketchers Beijing, an association of amateur painters in the capital city, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a series of activities starting Thursday.
Sketchers from all over the country are invited to join two "sketch walks", exploring the city's past and present while visiting historical sites along the narrow hutong (alleyways) and modern landmarks that dominate the city's skyline.

Additionally, sketching workshops and forums will be held at the XLLD Cultural and Creative Park in downtown Beijing during the four-day celebration.
One of the highlights is a joint exhibition featuring paintings by three members of Urban Sketchers Beijing: Li Xiaohong, Ha Ha Jie, and Jiang Nan. The watercolor works on display reveal diverse facets of the landscape and local lifestyle of the capital city.
