Thousands of residents and tourists have been evacuated from Jizhou district in Tianjin after the most severe flash flood in 70 years struck the region, inundating 13 villages along the Juhe River and triggering a top-level emergency response.

As of Tuesday, around 10,527 residents had been evacuated to seven emergency shelters with the help of local officials, firefighters, soldiers, volunteers, and professional rescue teams.

"We've ensured basic living standards at all sites with bedding, food, drinking water, and essential facilities," said Wang Hongwei, director of Jizhou's emergency management bureau, on Tuesday. "Our priority now is restoring normalcy while maintaining full support for the displaced population."
