In 2021, the Xizang autonomous region launched an afforestation project in the mountains to the north and south of Lhasa.
As the first large-scale tree planting and afforestation initiative in the history of Xizang, this significant ecological restoration project aims to complete 2.0672 million mu (137,813 hectares) of land greening over a period of 10 years.
Dawa Yangdron, who joined the decade-long project in 2022, said that whenever she feels mentally and physically exhausted, the sight of seedlings breaking through their seed shells gives her the strength to keep going.
