Art expo returns to Baotou, 'steel city on grasslands'

The second session of Art Expo China — Baotou will return to the city of Inner Mongolian autonomous region in North China from July 11 to 18, invigorating the summer cultural landscape on the grassland.

Powerhouse galleries, cultural institutions, artists and auctioneers, primarily from Beijing, will bring artworks, items of cultural heritage, art publications and creative products to people in Baotou, long been hailed as the "steel city on grasslands".

An exhibition of young artists will be presented by Rongbaozhai, the time-honored culture enterprise in Beijing. Another section will feature local artists who will display paintings, photos and works of ethnic cultures — Inner Mongolia is home to various ethnic groups.

The inaugural art expo last year drew some 150,000 visits.
