Gala marks launch of publishing group

As a key event of the Beijing International Book Fair, the 2025 BIBF International Publishers Gala on Wednesday night brought more than 500 guests from domestic and foreign government bodies, publishers' associations, and publishing houses together at the newly inaugurated China International Exchange Center for Publishers.

The gala, jointly organized by the China Publishing Group Co and the BIBF office, was established in 2023 to create a face-to-face exchange platform for the Chinese and international publishing communities to deepen friendship, strengthen exchanges, and foster cooperation. High-level publishing executives and industry elites from organizations such as the International Publishers Association, RCC Art Books, The Publishers Association of China, Bloomsbury Publishing PLC, and Springer Nature attended the gala.

With the platform of the BIBF, they will continue deepening exchanges, expand cooperation, and jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of the international publishing industry, while playing a greater role in the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations, they said.

Besides, a special exhibition Creation of Civilization is also shown at the center to showcase the contribution of the publishing industry to the Chinese civilization.
