An oil painting depicting Zhuang Shiping, a businessman and active figure in overseas Chinese communities, was recently donated to the Overseas Chinese Museum of China in Beijing.

The portrait's painter, Feng Shaoxie, an oil artist accomplished in portraiture and the vice-chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association, made the donation.

Feng began working on the portrait late last year, researching documents about Zhuang, who hailed from Guangdong province. The work shows a calm, wise man in his later years, projecting solemnity that suggests the figure's rich life experiences and patriotism.
