International students visit mountain village in Anhui
Jinzhai county, Anhui province, is one of the birthplaces of the people’s armed forces and the Chinese revolution.
In recent years, the local economy and quality of life have steadily improved. The University of Science and Technology of China has been dispatching teams to work in the county’s mountainous Longma village since 2014.
Zhou Zongyuan and Wei Bin, the fourth team sent by the university, have worked and lived in the village for the last 10 months. They live in a dormitory inside a local’s home and spend most of their time working for the villagers.
Recently, 12 international USTC students from 11 countries visited the village and explored the day-to-day lives of the villagers and the dispatched cadres.
The students had an opportunity to sit and chat in a house belonging to Fang Rongqing, who was once a poor villager.
The scene was reminiscent of a joyful family gathering during Spring Festival.Click the video to see the interaction.
